Argentina Cordoba Temple

Argentina Cordoba Temple

Its finally here! Well, almost! On Monday I head out to Argentina! Flying from Salt Lake City to Atlanta, and then a 12 hour to Buenos Aires, and then an 8 hour bus ride to Cordoba! All I know is that I'm gonna be talking to a lot of people haha. ;)
Being a missionary and talking to people starts while I wait at the airport!

This last week at the MTC has been amazing. A lot of the missionaries here complain about how terrible the food is and yada yada yada. Elder Lervold and I decided to take the opportunity this last week to really soak up the spirit and build our testimonies. I feel so much more prepared and I know that I'm absolutely ready to head out to Argentina. My Spanish is not perfect at all (even though everyone thinks so), but the Lord called me to serve in Cordoba, so I'm have no worries about learning the language. It has been really busy with packing and such, but I just feel so much peace. I got to go to the temple this morning for the last time here in Provo and God has given me such a desire to just get out there and share His word. I know I am going to be humbled, but I can only change if I am humble so that I can actually listen to Him.

During studies, since it was our last week with having a computer available every day, I decided to use it as much as possible and take advantage of our time. Here are a couple videos that I would like to share that just helped me feel the spirit so much and I know it will do the
same for you!

What’s the connection?

God loves us, so He gave us families. He gave us the opportunity to really truly love others. The hardest part about life is that we age. We get old, we rely on medication to get through the last days, and we will all eventually die. Because of Jesus Christ, every one of us will be resurrected and our bodies will be restored to their perfect state. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and all that He has done for me. He has humbled me, changed me, and made me more than I could ever have made of myself.

I love you all and challenge you to search for God every day in your life. He loves every one of us and helps us every day with His tender mercies. We just need to look for them and as you search you will find his hand in your life, because that is what he does for us every day.
I think my new email day will be Tuesdays, but I'll let you know when I know for sure!  Love you all and thanks for all your prayers and support! :)

Love,
Elder Pomar

Anotha one, just like that!

It was an up and down week but Jesus carried me, that's all that I know. I got really homesick but prayer works. He has given me so much comfort during this time and will continue to. I'm so grateful that I get to be a missionary for His church. I am a representative of Jesus Christ and I have to do my best to act as He did. He loved everyone perfectly and was never prejudice towards others. He was perfect. It's really hard to be perfect, actually, it's impossible. I'm grateful that He has humbled me so much so that I can actually listen to Him. There wasn't a whole lot that went on this week besides the continuous grind of learning Spanish and planning lessons. I get a little discouraged sometimes, but I do my best to "suck it up" and get on my knees. This is my life for the next 2 years and I'm choosing to make the best of it.

During my studies, I found this video...

This gives me the chills every time I watch it. PLEASE watch it, I know that it will invite the spirit into your life. Joy comes from God, not from all the things that we have. God gave us families and friends. We can only experience true joy and happiness if we spend our time with the ones we love. I really took that for granted before my mission, and I can't go back, but only move forward.

Valentine's day was weird at the MTC hahahaha, but it was all made up for when M Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles came and spoke to us. He talked to us about eternal marriage. He and his wife are so cute oh my gosh! I know that marriage in the temple is one of the most important things we can do in this life that allows us to be married and sealed for time and ALL ETERNITY. I love this gospel with all my heart and I know it's true with no doubt in my mind.

I read this in the temple today (John 16:33)...

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

There is absolutely nothing we can't overcome with the Savior's help. He died for us so we could have this beautiful gospel. He overcame the sins OF THE WORLD. He knows exactly how we feel and He wants to help us. Pray and I promise you, He will help you!
Stay safe and lots of love!

Hey hey hey!!!

This week just flew by and there wasn't a ton that happened physically, but spiritually it was another amazing week. I have felt the spirit soooo strong and there is no doubt in my mind that this Church is true. My Spanish is doing great. I just open my mouth and God is putting words in it. I have been working really hard to help my companion to learn Spanish. God told me that I needed to help him learn, and I know that's the reason that I need to be here for 6 weeks rather than only 3. I honestly just can't wait to get down to Argentina. There's people that need to hear this message. God wants us to be happy. The only way we can experience true joy is through obeying the commandments that God gave us and spending time with the people that we love. Because of Jesus dying on the cross, we can have eternal families and eternal joy. I know that there is a life after this and that this is NOT the end, but only the beginning.

The Christ-like attribute I have been focusing on the entire time being here at the MTC is charity, the pure love of Christ. When I care more about others that myself is when I am the happiest. The point of us being on this earth is to help others.

Matthew 25:40
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Matthew 22:36-39
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

I have been thinking about this os much while being out here. My mission isn't for me, its about serving others and serving God.

I got to watch this video and it touched me so much. We can all apply it in our lives. Watch it PLEASE, it will change how you look at others.

I love you all so much and I know this church is the true church, and it was restored through Joseph Smith. This is Christ's church, He directs it. If you want to know if it's true, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. I PROMISE YOU, you WILL receive an answer.
